Broadcasting your VOD content as a Livestream with an EPG showing the schedule may look complex, but it's quite simple when you do it with Ventuno
Step 1: How to create a channel
From the Content section of the left menu, select Organize > Manage Channel
Click Create New Channel in the top right corner.
Here is how you can fill in the channel details and manage it
Step 2: Creating a show and mapping it to the channel:
Follow the steps for creating a new show.
Under Show channel select the channel you want to map the show. This mapping will help create a Livestream video for your website and apps.
Once you do this, make sure you approve this content to be available in your website and apps
The next step is to create a playlist
Step 3: Create a playlist
From the Content section, select Organize > Playlist
Click on the Add button
Here is how you can fill in the details and add content to your playlist
Now you are all set to create your EPG.
⚠️ Note:
Only individual videos added to the show will be considered for scheduling.
Shows within a playlist are not considered for scheduling
Changes made in the playlist after scheduling will not change the schedule.
Step 4: Creating an EPG
From the Video Playout section of the left menu, select Program Scheduler> EPG > Create EPG
Fill in a name for your EPG in the EPG Name field
Select the created channel from the dropdown
Hit the Submit button.
⚠️ Note Please wait until your EPG gets approved, this may take a few minutes.
Finally, you are all set to schedule content for your EPG.
Step 5: Adding your playlist to the schedule
From the CLOUD PLAYOUT Section of the left menu, select Program Scheduler> Content > Add Program.
Here is how you can add a playlist to your schedule
Now that you have scheduled and created a perfect stream, you must upload it to your content library.
Step 6: Generating Livestream URL:
From the CLOUD PLAYOUT section of the left menu, select Program Scheduler> Generate-Stream URL
You can generate the Live Stream URL by selecting the channel created above.
Click Generate URL to generate your Live Stream URL.
Once the URL is generated, please let us know so that we can approve the same from the backend.
After the M3U8 URL is approved, you need to upload this as a Livestream to ensure the Livestream video playback on the endpoints.
Step 7: Uploading Live stream video:
From the Content section of the left menu, select Upload
Head to the Live Streaming Tab > 24/7 Livestream and paste the URL
Fill in other details and under the show select the new show you created for the new channel.
Click the Upload button.

Once the Live video upload process is completed, the Live stream, EPG, and other details will be added to the Website and apps.
⚠️ Our support team can guide you through adding a new live stream EPG to your website. You can schedule your content once the channel has been added to the Website and apps. Afterward, your updates will be reflected automatically on the website and apps.
