User management is the process of managing user accounts, and their plans and accesses on your streaming service.

Typically all streaming services allow user registration, login, password management, and content gating, but you need more than just this to have an efficient customer service system.

So a good user management system for your streaming business will encompass all the features you need, from onboarding a customer to engaging them and ensuring they are retained.

To track your user activities like what are the endpoints the user logged into recently, and what are actions performed from their end will be available under the Manage user section.

These activities will be divided into 3 sections for easy tracking:

  1. User Recent Login Activity

  2. User Recent Activity

  3. Admin Recent activity.

Let's dive into each one and see what activities and details are available for Users.

1. User Recent Login Activity:

This section contains only the login activities of the user over a period of time and will be updated to the most recently logged-in activity. This section will have the following details of the login:

  • Date

  • Device

  • IP Address

  • Location Device details

As shown in the above screenshot, you can track the user's login activity based on the above 4 points, and the login action is performed from 3 different locations. If you find any login suspicious login activities, you can quickly check and provide a response to the query raised by the user.

Note: To avoid suspicious activities, both login and account activities can be blocked when the account is logged in from a different location or via Proxy/VPN. This is to make sure the account is not hacked and that no payment-related activity is performed on the user's account. This will not be enabled by default and can be enabled only based on your request to our Support team.

You can check the IP whether as a Proxy/VPN activity or based on the user's location.

2. User Recent Activity:

This section contains the user activities other than the login activities of the user over a period of time and will be updated to the most recent activity performed. This section will have the following details:

  • Date

  • Activity

  • Device

  • IP Address

  • Location Device details

As you can see in the above screenshot, you can track the activities such as forgot password, subscription/Rent activities, Cancelation details, etc.

⚠️ Note: Please note that the actions performed on the endpoints related to profile activities will not be updated in this section.

You can use these details in multiple scenarios like when the user claimed to cancel before the plan was renewed but they were charged. You can simply go to the recent activities and get the exact date and time of cancelation and update the user accordingly.

3. Admin Recent Activity:

Unlike user activities, this section will help you to track the actions performed at the Admin level on the user's account. This section will have the following details:

  • Date

  • Activity

  • IP Address

  • Location Device details

As you can see from the above screenshots, you can check the action performed at the admin level such as

  • Adding a subscription plan,

  • Adding a rental plan,

  • Canceling the user's plan if the user is having issues with canceling

  • Extending the SVOD/TVOD plans

  • Revoking user access.
