The next video in an autoplay sequence is determined based on what content the user is currently watching

Your content can be either be organized as episodes of a show and season. Or they can just be a collection of clips

Scenario 1: The viewer is watching episodes of a season

  • All episodes (in ascending order) of the season will be played one after other

  • After which episodes from the next season of the same show will be played (if the show has seasons)

  • When the user is watching the last season of a show, the next video will be selected based on similar tags.

Scenario 2: The viewer is watching episodes of a show without seasons

  • All episodes (in ascending order) of the season will be played one after other

  • When the user is watching the last video of the show, the next video will be selected based on similar tags.

Scenario 3: Let's say the user is watching a video from a playlist,

  • All the videos in the playlist will be played one after the other

  • After the completion of the playlist, videos are played based on related tags

  • If there are no matches or multiple matches for tags, then the most recently published video will be played

Scenario 4: When the user watches random clips

  • The next video is selected based on related content (ie) similar tags

  • In case of no related videos, the most recently uploaded videos are considered

Also, the content rating is considered when determining the next video in an autoplay sequence.

💡 This ensures that your users are not exposed to inappropriate or mature content that exceeds their preferred rating. This is particularly important for platforms that cater to a wide range of users, including children and young audiences.
