If you're looking to create a Live Event, OBS Studio is a great tool to consider. It's free, open-source software that enables you to record and live streams on Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.

If you are new to OBS Studio, you can check out the Quick Start Guide to get started with setting up your streaming.

Before you begin, make sure your system meets the minimum requirements for OBS Studio. You can find the system requirements here

RTMP Server Setup and HLS conversion

  • From the Content section of the left menu, select Live Stream and then Manage RTMP Server

  • Click on the Start RTMP server.

  • Copy your RTMP URL for your OBS setup

  • Copy the converted HLS URL and upload it as a live event

When setting up your stream in OBS Studio, make sure to configure your settings right

Under the stream section, configure as follows

Make the below selection in the Output section

Video Bit Rate

4000 kbps

Audio Bit Rate

160

Video

In the video section select Frames as 30 fps

Under settings select Output Mode as Advanced and Keyframe Interval as 2 sec

Click Apply and then click OK

Finally, Click "Start Streaming" to start the streaming. Once completed, you can select the "Stop Streaming" option to end the streaming.

Troubleshooting Issues

  1. Verify the Server and Streamkey settings in the Stream tab if you encounter a streaming issue.

  2. If the issue continues, restart the RTMP server on the Ventuno platform by stopping it, waiting a few minutes, and starting it again.

  3. If the problem persists, close OBS, refresh or restart your device, and try again.

  4. If the issue is not resolved, contact your account manager for further assistance.
