Include high-quality screenshots and videos that showcase your app's functionality and user interface. Providing a privacy policy URL is also required to comply with data protection regulations.
Best practices for App Store Submission and ASO include:
Conducting keyword research to determine the most relevant and popular keywords for your app's category
Optimizing your app's title, description, and metadata with targeted keywords
Using high-quality app icons and screenshots to improve visibility and attract users
Encouraging positive reviews and ratings from users
Updating your app regularly to fix bugs and introduce new features
Monitoring and analyzing your app's performance metrics to make data-driven decisions for improving your app's ASO strategy.
App Store Title Best Practices
Each app store has its own specific requirements for the length of titles and descriptions.
To make sure your content looks clean and professional, take some time to manage and adjust the length of your text. That way, you can make sure your content is well-presented and stands out to your audience. It's important to optimize your text to avoid the dreaded three dots (...) at the end of your content.
❌Here are some things to avoid when naming your app:
Don't use generic descriptions like "world's best app"
Don't include inappropriate content in the title
Avoid mentioning pricing or terms
Don't reference other apps in the title
Avoid using unverifiable product names in the title
Here are the maximum number of characters allowed in each app store
App | Title Characters allowed | References/ Best practices |
Android | 30 characters or less
Android TV | 30 characters or less |
|
iOS | 30 characters or less
Apple TV | 30 characters or less
Amazon Fire TV | 80 characters or less |
|
Roku | 30 characters or less |
App Store Description Best Practices
An app store description is a text-based summary that provides your potential users with an overview of your app's features, functionalities, and benefits. The description typically includes information about the app's purpose, target audience, and unique selling points. The description also serves as a marketing tool that aims to persuade users to download the app. The app store description is usually one of the first things that potential users will see when browsing through the app store, so it is important to make a good impression with a clear, concise, and compelling description.
💡 Best Practices:
Use relevant keywords and phrases to help your app appear in search results and improve discoverability
Keep the description concise and easy to read by using short paragraphs, bullet points, and headings
Highlight what sets your app apart from competitors and emphasize its unique content.
Use a consistent brand voice and tone throughout the description to reinforce your brand identity
Test and optimize your description over time based on user feedback and performance metrics
App | Description/Subline | References/ Best practices |
Android | Short Description upto 80 characters
Android TV | Short Description upto 80 characters
iOS | Maximum 45 characters
Apple TV | Maximum 45 characters
Amazon Fire TV | Short description Maximum 1200 English characters
Roku | Maximum of 1500 characters |
|
⚠️ Note: If app store moderators find excessive keyword stuffing in your app description, your app may be disapproved. Therefore, it's essential to ensure that your description is error-free and written naturally, without falsifying any information or testimonials.
Screenshots Best Practices
Screenshots are super important for app store optimization (ASO). They're a great way to give potential users a visual idea of what your app is all about and what it looks like. When people are browsing the app store, screenshots are often one of the first things they see, so they really help to catch their attention and convince them to give your app a try. So, if you want to boost your app's visibility and increase your downloads, don't forget to pay close attention to your app's screenshots!
