What is AI Recommendation and how it works?

AI recommendation helps you to leverage the use of artificial intelligence to deliver personalized content suggestions to your users based on the data you input to the system. You can integrate this AI Recommendations using Google Cloud. You need to create your Google Cloud account and provide the required details for the system to learn the user data and patterns.

It will analyse the user behaviour—such as watch history, viewing time, and content preferences—and apply machine learning algorithms to predict what each user is most likely to watch next. By processing these data in real time, AI-powered recommendations helps you to provide an enhanced user engagement, reduce churn, and increase content discovery by making the viewing experience more relevant and intuitive.

What are the types of Recommendation available?

There are four types of AI recommendation widgets you can add to your website and apps:

“Others You May Like”
“Recommended for You”
“More Like This”
“Most Popular”

Based on the user-data provided to the Google cloud, the Recommendation AI will provide API responses for each of the types which we have used to create widgets on the Home page and details page.

The "Most popular" and "Recommended for you" can be added to both the Home as well as the details page, where the "More like this" and "Others you may like" can be added only to the Video/Movie details page.
The "Most Popular" widget will feature the same videos for all users, highlighting the most-watched content.
In contrast, other widgets are updated based on individual user preferences and will differ for each user.
The recommendation widgets will be enabled and available only for registered and subscribed user accounts.
You can enable/disable the widgets based on your preference using our Ventuno platform by following the below steps.

How can I manage the Recommendation AI widgets using Ventuno platform?

1. From the left menu, under the Apps section, select the Website or app you want to manage the widget. For reference, I have selected Website as shown in the below screenshot.

2. Under the pages section, Select the "Movie Details" section.

3. Scroll down inside the Movie details where you can find the "AI Recommendations Section" under our "Recommended videos" section.

4. You can enable/disable the widgets using the toggle as shown below.

5. For each of the recommendations, you will have the following customization options:

Layout- 3 different layouts to choose from.
Section Title - Enable/Disable
Section Title Text - Edit the section title text as required
Video Thumbnail ratio - Select between the available thumbnail ratio's.
Video Thumbnail Size- Choose between different card

6. Once all the customizations are done, select the "Save" option and after a while the changes will be reflected on your website and apps.

Can I add these recommendation widgets to my Home page?

Yes, you can add the "Most popular" and "Recommended for you" by following the below steps:

1. From the left menu, under the Apps section, select the Website or app you want to manage the widget. For reference, I have selected Website as shown in the below screenshot.

2. Under the pages section, Select the "Home page" section.

3. Select "Add section" and then select the section type as "AI Recommendation". Once selected, you will get all the customizations you get for Home Page.

4. Under the "Recommendation Type", you can choose between the below 2 options.
